If you don’t like ‘Breaking Bad’ it’s already time for you to get the hell out, you’ve overstayed your welcome. You make up 0.00000000001% of people who just don’t like something 99.9999999999% of people do. It’s not your fault, but you’re gonna have a rough life trying to explain to people what your deal is.
Now, on to my adventure. This summer my wife and I are headed to Albuquerque, New Mexico. You may or may not know but that is also the city ‘Breaking Bad’ was filmed. Now I know what you’re thinking, ‘You like Breaking Bad as much as the next guy but you wouldn’t plan a whole trip to Albuquerque just because a show you liked (a lot) was filmed there;’ and you would be right, we aren’t going to Albuquerque just because Breaking Bad was filmed there, but we ARE going to to Las Vegas, Nevada for five days and Southwest has an $89 flight from LAS to ABQ. So you can see the pickle we’re in.
Now Albuquerque, New Mexico has a lot of cool stuff to offer. Besides about five casinos, great food, ton’s of Native American history and being just 45min from Santa Fe, Albuquerque also features the Sandia Peak Tramway, a 10,000ft. + climb on the third longest and highest tram that will make the hardest of hard asses shit their pants. Then, there is also places like Twisters.
Twisters is a little chicken joint on the outskirts of Albuquerque, some of you may know it as Los Pollos Hermanos. They have the ‘Heisenberg Booth’ and a few other neat things inside the restauraunt reminicent of the famous chicken brothers fast food restauraunt.
There is also of course the Walter White House, Hanks and Marie’s House, Jesse’s house, Crossroads Motel and the car wash just to name a few. Here is a link to the self guided tour. http://imgur.com/gallery/MfFcu
So, my wife and I love new cities and experiences just as much as the next guy but Albuquerque, New Mexico was never really on the bucket list. After stumbling upon Southwests $89 flight there on our way home from Las Vegas and finding out all these places from Breaking Bad were available to check out, we decided to head there for a couple days before we headed home. Hopefully it’s cool, if not at least we will get some good fried chicken and knock New Mexico off the list. Eat your heart out Walter White.
